Effet Smoky by Bourjois is their award winning eyeliner pencil which boast a wearable everyday smoky eye look in just two simple steps. This double-tipped pencil has a little brush at one end in order to smudge the pencil. The liner itself has a very intense colour which is easily applied due to its soft yet waxy texture and smudges very easily with the help of the brush. The brush is soft too so doesn't feel sharp around the eyes.
The only problem I have with the product is the whole smoky eye effect they claim it has; it's just not good. I copied the two step instructions on the pencil and I really didn't like it. Maybe I didn't do it right or something but I really didn't like the results. It's unfortunate but it's not why I brought the product so it doesn't really affect my opinion of this fantastic liner.
I think Effet Smoky is perfect for cats eyes, especially if you're a beginner like me. All you have to do is draw your line with the pencil, no need to end with the perfect flick. Then you can use the brush to smudge and shape the flick at the end of your eye to perfect the look. Honestly, it creates the perfect look every time. This should be Bourjois's selling point for this liner, not the smoky eye effect, as I think this is what the liner excels at.
Effet Smoky comes in five cracking colours but I do feel that the shade a purchased, Ultra-Black (76), is the most wearable as an everyday liner. Saying that, the other liners may do the smoky effect justice I've just never tried it.
In all, Bourjois's Effet Smoky eyeliner has made me love eyeliner pencils, and that was a tricky task indeed. I highly recommend this eyeliner, especially for beginners as it really makes applying liners seem like a less difficult task. This is the first product I've ever tried from Bourjois and I do think I will be trying more from their range as I'm so impressed with this liner.
What's your opinion on eyeliners? I would really like to know.

Thank you! I'll check that out right away Xx
DeleteIt looks really great but I'm really crap at making line on top of the lid of eye. Tried it few times until it got on my nerves then never again =D For lower lid, i need a waterproof eyeliner others my smudges badly.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it looked better than you think it did. Yes, for the waterline a waterproof liner is best. But, practise makes perfect and I found this one really easy to use, you just have to go slowly and it's ok if the line is thicker than planned. Xx
Deletethanks, i'll put this on my make-up shoppng list. =)
