Sketchy Sundays: Sarah Hyland

I absolutely loved Sarah Hyland's (Hailey in Modern Family) outfit for the Emmy awards this year. Most people usually ware a massive and glitzy gown, but Sarah went for a more current look with a crop top and a huge maxi skirt, accessorizing it very simply with earrings and a ring. She carried it off effortlessly and the coral colour of the skirt is gorgeous.

My current art projects theme is fashion, so naturally had to draw this look. I've been obsessed with Hayden William's fashion Illustrations recently and this has massively influenced my drawing style. If you are unfamiliar with his work I highly recommend you search for him, he writes a blog too. (link)

Three posts in one week? I've really got on top of things this week. Sorry for abandoning this series for awhile. I will do my best to get an art post up at least once a month, maybe more if I'm feeling especially creative.

#OOTDFridays Number 25

Now here's a tag no-one expected to make a come back. The last time I did an OOTD was in April and my Mum though she got away from taking photos for me ever again. But no! Today was a teacher training day so I had the day off school, yay. It was definitely a much needed break. Since I usually get back from school so late there often isn't time to photograph and write an #ootdfridays post, but with no school I though I'd make the effort.

Autumn is well and truly here, however somebody forget to tell the sun that because it is still incredibly hot and sunny. Not complaining though as it helped get some cracking photos.

Shirt: Miss Guided | Shorts: Very | Boots: New Look
I don't often wear the colour orange, but these shorts were just too cute to refuse. I found them a few years back in Jameela Jamil's collection for Very and have rocked them every autumn since. They are just the perfect tone and length for this season. I didn't want to over-indulge in colour so coordinated the shorts with an over-sized black polka-dot shirt (which I'm obsessed with by the way) and black ankle boots. Add a bit of dark red lipstick and this autumnal look is complete.
Silly pose of the week... Just swinging around.

Now, I'm not going to promise this will come back again soon, maybe in half-term or on the run up to Christmas, as I have so little time now on Fridays. However, I am missing my fashion posts so I think I'm going to organise more posts like this in the near future. So keep your eye peeled...

October Playlist

Hello October, the best month of the year. Our super long summer looks like it is finally coming to an end making way for autumn. Halloween, over-sized hoodies and cozy nights in; what's not to love? So it's time to update the playlist to suit the new season. Here's a selection of tracks I've been loving recently.

Zombie- Jamie T: What better month to release this track? I absolutely adore this song. I can't believe that I've literally only just discovered Jamie T's music. How could I let him slip through my radar? Will be searching for more of his music urgently.

Budapest- George Ezra: I love George Ezra's voice. I could listen to him forever. Budapest is my favourite of his songs that I've heard so far. He's a fairly new artist so I don't know how well known he is worldwide, but if you haven't yet check out his music. It's really easy listening and simply beautiful.

Take Me to Church- Hozier: Amen. That's all I have to say.

18- 5 Seconds of Summer: I don't think it's possible for me to create a playlist anymore without including a 5SOS song. I'm just obsessed with every song on their album. I chose this track this time as I turn eighteen this month so I thought it was pretty fitting.

Shake it Off- Taylor Swift: I'm not going to lie, kind of love this song. Can Taylor Swift actually write a bad song? I've been listening to a lot of Radio 1 breakfast where they have named it The Lad Anthem and play it none stop, causing it to get stuck in my head every morning. Don't ask.

Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)- The Vamps: I've been waiting for these boys to release this song for over a year now. This cover is amazing and the video is pretty cool too.

All About That Bass- Meghan Trainor: I first heard this song a while ago and I must admit I wasn't a fan. I just felt that it was shaming those who are on the thinner side, suggesting that they are all against the larger person which is by no means true. However, I've been brought over by the infectious beat. It is far too catchy.

Dance Dance- Fall Out Boy: I decided to watch the music video for this just now as I hadn't seen it since 2006 and I am fully obsessed. I forgot how much I loved this track. I hope to God I looked mildly cooler then the band on my prom. And if not, I will definitely make-up for it at the leavers ball in May.

Sleeping With The Light On- Busted: I've been reminiscing about the McBusted concert I went to in April, especially this song. I'm not sure if everyone around me enjoyed quite as much as I did since I screamed out pretty much every lyric. I should probably mention the fact that I sound like a drowned rat when I sing. Those poor people who chose to stand next to me. Regardless, I enjoyed myself and hearing this song just reminds me of that great night.

Stacy's Mom- Fountains of Wayne: I stuck my iPod on shuffle the other day when walking home from school and this song popped up. I hadn't heard it in ages and I had to try my hardest not to freak out and sing along. So it had to be added here.

Transylvania- McFly: A bonus one since it is nearly Halloween. Plus, have you seen their music video for Transylvania? It made me giggle when I searched for it just before.

I'm thinking about doing these playlists more often so if you like them please let me know and I'll continue to share the music I love. I've also made the playlist available on YouTube to make it easier for you if you want to listen to any of the tracks. What songs are you listening to at the moment? Old or new, I'd love to know.
