Garnier Body Intensive 7days

As you may have read back in June, I purchased Garnier's latest moisturiser to find out what all the fuss was about. I often suffer from very dry skin on my legs which can be a nightmare if I want to wear shorts in the summer; it's just not very attractive. My previous one just wasn't working with my skin and the intensively hydrating tag line on the bottle was very intriguing. I also have seen so bloggers rave about this and the hand cream version so I thought it was worth a shot.

Sorry I didn't do this review closer to the date of purchase but I really wanted to give this moisturiser a good testing before a formed my final opinion of it. Usually, I buy the product, try it once or twice then write my review without a thorough trial of it. This means that occasionally my opinion changes and my review is no longer accurate about the product. Especially as this is a product that I see as essential for everyday care, I really wanted to make the effort and write an accurate review. I think I may do this with more products in the future as I do want to create accurate, in depth posts about the products I try to help you decided whether they are right for you.

Garnier's Intensive 7days body moisturiser boasts a hydrating formula with L-Bifidus and Aloe Vera. I know what your thinking, L-Bifidus? It helps to reinforce your skins protective barrier in order to lock in moisture. This is Garnier's own innovation and, as far as I know, no other product has it. Added with Aloe Vera which is well known for its nourishing abilities, the science alone tells you that your skin is going to love you for this.

Right, geeky time over, now time to focus on the product itself. It has a very light, almost watery consistency which has the very well known scent of Aloe Vera. As stated on the bottle, it is fast absorbing and I find a little can go a long way. It's great as you don't fell greasy after applying which I find many others do. I don't feel I have to put on tonnes to get results either which is a bonus and can save money.

I use it twice daily which is recommended to get the best results. I am so pleased with the results too. My dry skin cleared up almost completely within the first week of use. Although I am keen to test out Garnier's bold claim of 7 day hydration after last use, I'm not quite brave enough at the moment. Not during the summer, maybe in the autumn. I've been using it for 5-6 weeks now religiously and I'm running low. It's so inexpensive that I'm surprised its lasted this long as I tend to over do it with moisturisers.

I am in love with this moisturiser as it does everything it's supposed to do and does it well. Cheap as chips and works wonders, what more could you possibly want! Intensive 7days is aimed at normal skin, however I believe if you suffer from relatively dry skin from time to time like me, this is perfect for you. Also suitable for sensitive skin means that even I can benefit from the results with my skin getting irritated. I'm so impressed with the results and I know you will be too.

However, if you have severely dry or sensitive skin, Garnier haven't forgotten about you. Their range contains different strength formulas that benefit those with sensitive, dry or even extra dry skin. If this is you, I think they will be well worth a try.

I hope this has been helpful to you as this product has helped me greatly.

#ootdfridays Number 12

On another one of my adventures, this time I hit the seafront to get some nice shots with some boats and the coast line. The tide was low so unfortunately the boats that I could get close too weren't bobbing around in the water. But I did take a couple by the harbour to make up for that.

The Islands you can see in the distance are Herm,
Jetou (private Island) and half of Sark.
Being near the sea, there was a bit of a breeze so I wanted to wear a top that would float in the gentle breeze. The material and length of this shirt meant it was perfect for what I wanted to achieve with the outfit. As it's summer and still extremely hot, shorts were the obvious choice to complete the outfit. Add some cute pumps and bracelets and I was ready to go.

Shirt: A local boutique that closed down
Shorts: New Look
Shoe: Miss Guided
Bracelets: New Look

Yes, this is another photo heavy post. I like doing these little adventures as the weather is too nice to not be out and the backdrop is far better then my tiny garden. Also, it gives you the opportunity to see a bit more of Guernsey, a destination I am almost certain most of you would never of heard of before, let alone actually visited. If you are anything like me, just a little bit nosy,  its nice to see places you've never heard of or seen before. Its interesting I guess, and completely off topic. Sorry for rambling!

Now it's your turn. Instagram a picture of your ootd with the hash-tag #ootdfridays and I could feature it in next weeks post.

Enjoy your weekend!

I Heart Summer Tag

I've been tagged by the lovely Sinead of Dreamin Again to do the I heart summer tag. Check out her blog, it's well worth a read. So, here we go!

1. Favourite bronzer for summer?
I've never actually used bronzed before. I usually don't tan or get a very even, all over tan so I've never really needed it before. But, I've caught the sun on everywhere but my face so I may invest in one. Any suggestions?

2. You're relaxing on a hammock on a tropical island, what would you be sipping on?
Probably just a Sprite, being underaged and all. Do love Sprite though. Lemonade really is a refreshing summer drink.

3. Favourite summer lipstick?
I don't own many lipsticks and the ones I do own are all melt a bit in the heat. But, my red Revlon colorstay lipstick as it's long lasting, necessary in this heat.

4. Pool or beach
Beach. There's something about the beach that the pool just can't complete with. Ultimate summer place.

5. Summer = crazy hair, whats your must have styling product?
My hair doesn't really change in the summer but it is awfully thin. I use Tresseme volume mousse to try and give it a little boost. It's humidity resistant so it can handle the summer heat.

6. Sun bathing or fake tanning?
I HATE fake tan. I don't like how people over dose on it and look orange and as I'm naturally very pale, even a thin layer will give me an orange tone. So, I would have to say sun bathing, which I do not recommend. So bad for you.

7. Favourite summer nail polish?
For me, summer means a splash of colour. I do love my Barry M nail paints in yellow apeach Melba. But, if you want nails that would make Barbie jealous, Revlon's scented

8. Any summer traditions?
I don't think I have any. That's a shame. Maybe I need to create one.

9. Favourite summer scent?
Daisy by Marc Jacobs. To be honest, I'd wear this all year round because I love it so much. It's light and refreshing which is perfect for summer.

10. Favourite BBQ food?
I haven't been to BBQ in years! Little miss popular here obviously! ;) When I do go to one, I do love a hotdog or a burger. Food just tastes better barbecued.

11. Favourite summer proof make-up?
My approach to make-up is apply and fingers-crossed it stays. So I don't tend to invest in waterproof make-up or bb creams etc. However, I think that waterproof mascaras are a must for the pool or beach at summer, I just can't find any in my local shops.

12. Any summer vacations planned?
Me and my friends were hoping to go to Jersey, another channel island, but I'm not sure if these plans will go ahead. Otherwise, no. Nowhere exotic anyway.

I tag:

Hope you all have a great summer!

Past Instagrams

I've only had Instagram for just over a year, but within the first 6 months I had well over a hundred photos uploaded to it. But I have since deleted them and forgotten about them. That is, until now. I found some on my computer and decided I would share the fail of a first time Instagrammer I was a year ago. I hope you enjoy!

Tatty Ted

There are some truly awful selfies but this is one of the
better ones.

Reflection Fail!

Art project that I realised needed to be in colour after I
had finished it... Well done Taz!

I was a frame addict.

So greedy. Some things never change!

This was my favourite perfume which I accidentally brought
the shower gel version of... I really need to learn to read!

Festival Feet!

Guernsey Festival Donkeys!

After the 2 day festival.. It had rained a lot that week and
was super muddy but was still amazing!
I get bored sometimes...

Oh yeah, I also had to filter absolutely everything!

#ootdfridays Number 11

Woo! Summer is here, the sun is set to stay and everything looks so beautiful. Just a little update from me. I'm back on Pinterest! I signed up in December and deactivated my account within an hour. I was inpatient and couldn't figure out how to work it. But I understand now and really like it. So, if you like cute outfits and baby sloths (obsessed to say the least!) then please do follow. Also, has anyone heard of The Vamps? They are an up and coming band who currently post covers on YouTube. I think they're really good, plus they're hot! Well worth checking them out.
Warning: Another photo heavy post!

Another beautiful day here so went on another little adventure for this post. I like to mix up the background from time to time. Well, it looks much better than my garden! I think this might be the first playsuit I've ever owned. I brought it about two years ago on sale in New Look. I just loved the colourful floral pattern of it, which is unusual for me as I don't often go for floral items. I think it's really fun and summery, the cut of it makes it extremely comfy yet flattering too. Add a pair of girly converses and floral accessories and you have the perfect girly-girl summer outfit ready to go anywhere.

Playsuit: New Look
Ring: Accessorize
Shoes: Converses
Remember, you can take part too! Just Instagram a pic of your ootd using the hash tag #ootdfridays and I could feature it in next weeks post.

Have a lovely weekend!

Rimmel Salon Pro Nails

This is the last product I wore to prom that I am sharing my thoughts on with you. I feel like I've left the best to last too, so I hope you enjoy.

Lately, Rimmel have been seriously impressing me with the great quality products that they have released. They are quickly turning into my favourite drugstore brand, especially their nail products, so it's no surprise why I turned to them for my prom nails.

I previously brought Rimmel's Salon Pro for my Mum for her Birthday. She was so pleased with the polish in Urban Purple (402) that I decided to pick up one for myself. I got the colour Rock N Roll (703) which is part of Kate Moss' collection. The colour is a fabulous, darker red and is really strong. One coat gives complete coverage and such a bold colour that you almost don't need to consider applying another coat, which is exactly what I did for prom. The wide brush applicator makes applying quick and gives flawless results. The polish is surprisingly quick drying too, which is an always welcome bonus.

Results with 2 coats.
The only issue with this beautiful polish is its claim. Written on the back of the bottle is 'chip resistant'. This is not the case. The day after prom my nails were chipped just like any other varnish that I own. It's a shame because this could of so easily been the best varnish out there. But, I still prefer Rimmel's Professional Finish nail polish (review here) as that really is chip resistant. However this could of been because I only applied one layer of varnish, not two, but this could be wishful thinking on my part.

At the end of the day, this is still an amazing polish and Rimmel haven't let themselves down. But, Rimmel has done better lasting quality, but that doesn't compare to the truly stunning colour quality  of Salon Pro. I do recommend this product if you are looking outstanding colour other staying power.

Pyjamas: Mini Very Haul

I love to go a little crazy when it comes to pyjamas. So, after finding some cute pj's on Very, I got a little excited. Anyway, pyjamas are essential so you really can't go wrong with a teeny tiny mini haul, can you?

I love getting cartoon characters as you can't always get away with wearing such themed clothing during the day. But, as pj's, no one will know so no one can judge you. The first set I found was this Rugrats themed one and I really just couldn't refuse. I loved Rugrats as a kid, what 90's baby didn't, and I remember having a massive Angelica doll and I think other Rugrats toys too. The finish of the print on the t-shirt isn't exactly great but I still like it. I think the pyjama shorts are pure crazy and the best I've ever seen. Yes, I know, a sixteen year old getting so excited over Rugrats pyjamas is insane. But it's Ok, I found them in the adult section, it's perfectly acceptable to like them. Haha, yes I'm weird!

Another cartoon themed pj but this one is Disney. You're never too old for Disney, especially not Minnie Mouse. I really love the leopard print on her hair bow and the pyjama shorts. I'm not usually a huge fan of animal print but this looks really cute, not at all tacky. Really comfy and cool.

Finally, I brought this 2 pack of playsuit pyjamas from brand Sorbet. I wasn't sure whether these would be comfy enough to sleep in but they are comfortable. They have a cute design too (flamingos, 'Miami Beach' and cocktails!) with summery colours. I like the lace and ribbon detail at the top and the light weight material is perfect for summer. It's a little big at the top but other than that I'm happy with the fit. I'm quite fussy with pjs, they can't be long sleeved or legged as I get too hot very quickly, they have to be short sleeved or a vest with shorts. These playsuits are a great alternative and good for summer.

Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bit! (Although I am writing this at 5:30pm, fail!)

Summer Playlist

Relaxing in the sun, listening to hit songs all day long is what summer is all about. So I thought I'd gather a few songs that I will be listening to on repeat this summer. The first seven are songs new for this year and the last three are songs that always remind me of summer. So here we go, hope you like:

Kodaline- Love Like This: I love this song! It's such a lovely little song with an amazing chilled beat. It's on a relaxed summer song that you just have to sit back and sing-a-long too.

Eliza Doolittle- Big When I Was Little: This songs not even out yet and it is easily one of my favourite songs of the year! As if it wasn't enough that fashion had hit the rewind button, Eliza Doolittle is singing to us beautifully about what was cool in the 90's. Incredibly catchy and a super summer track. Its currently stuck in my head but I'll have to wait until the 29th to download it. Anyone else remember Malcolm in the Middle?

Icono Pop- I Love It: Number one not too long ago, the track just screams PARTY PARTY PARTY! I love it and it will almost definitely be at the top of any summer party sound track.

Bruno Mars- Treasure: This was the first song I heard this year that really made me think summer is here! Bruno never fails to deliver absolute hits and Treasure is no exception. Definitely one for a chilled, sunny day at the park.

Iggy Azalea- Bounce: Another party hit, this time from Iggy Azalea. This is another song that gets stuck in my head easily and is sure to make you dance.

Vampire Weekend- Diane Young: I still love this song! Still catchy and still makes me dance every time I listen to it. Love it!

John Newman- Love Me Again: You need this song! Well, I need it as I don't have it yet but I want it. Stunning, soulful vocals from John Newman.

Jason Mraz- I'm Yours: Classic! Summer wouldn't be summer without this tune!

The Vaccines- If You Wanna: A song so contagious really can't be ignored! I just want to jump around and dance when this song pops up on the radio.

Rudimental feat. John Newman- Feel The Love: I still can't get enough of this song! Last years summer anthem is a hard one to beat but John Newman may be able to do it again.

What songs are you loving this summer?

#ootdfridays Number 10

Wow, this is my 10th #ootdfridays and I love doing it. Especially at the moment with the sun making everyone cheerful and I can choose fun, summery clothes.

Shirt: ASOS
Skirt: Miss Guided
Shoes: Miss Guided
Sunglasses: Accessories
This week I'm wearing pink. Wait, I'm not sure if I phrased that right. I'm wearing PINK! This is not a colour I've worn since it was my school uniform a year ago. I'm not a massive girly girl so pink isn't really a colour I wear but recently I've been trying to wear more colour. So, hello pink shirt. Keeping it simple, I opted for a black, floaty skirt and a pair of pumps. The sunglasses add a fun, summery relaxed element to the otherwise quite smart outfit. Add a touch of sunlight and summer is here.

This fabulous outfit is from Erika, eurekaerikaa on Instagram. Mint is such a great colour and big this season. I love this lace dress and the shoes are cute too.

Dress: Forever 21

Now it's your turn. Instagram a picture of your outfit of the day using the hash tag #ootdfridays and it could feature in next weeks post.

Happy weekend!

P.S sorry I forgot to add where the clothes I was wearing were from last week. So, if you are interested:

Summer Swim Wear

Summer is officially here, so it's time to dig out your bathers or bikinis and head on down to the beach or pools. I'm not a huge fan of swimming but in this weather, it's necessary.

Now, I didn't own any swim wear before this week so headed online to order some. Next is my favourite for swimming stuff as they produce quality clothing that you can rely on. I've had bathers that have broken in the past, well got a hole in not a major wardrobe malfunction but still embarrassing, so knowing that I won't have that embarrassment again is reassuring. Also, I believe the design of next swim wear has improved greatly other the past year; finally some bathers that actually look nice.

I often find that bathers do not look flattering on or the design is horrific (and I mean some really are hideous) and I don't understand why. Why aren't shops designing great looking bathers? If you want nice looking swim wear sometimes the only option in a bikini which not everyone, including myself, has the confidence to wear one. I mean, if you have the confidence of course wear one, but if you don't why are we forced to wear something that doesn't look all that nice. I don't speak for everyone or every shop, you may like these bathers that are not to my taste or the shops by you stock some fabulous one pieces, but this isn't the case for me most of the time and I really hope this changes quickly.

Ok, mini rant over. Time to move on.

So, yeah, after saying this and that about bathers, I found this beauty on Next. I love the colour and the floral frills add a pretty and feminine twist on what looks like a basic bather. However, the open back may not be to everyone's taste but I like it. The halter neck tie up give a feel of security which makes me feel more comfortable wearing it. It is well fitted, possibly a bit too tight on me although if it was any looser I would be paranoid of it falling so I guess I can live with that. I love these bathers, which also comes in different patterns, and I hope that next continue with their fabulous bather range.

I decided I needed to be brave and also purchased this fabulous bikini from Next. I love the colour and print of it as it feels like I'm on an exotic holiday with the trendy tribal prints. It also has a halter neck tie that just makes me feel comfortable and have a sense of security. They are high wasted but not as high wasted as I imagined. I thought they would be a little higher up the waste and cover my belly button but they don't. I'm very insecure about my stomach so I'm not sure how much wear these will get as they show more then I was expecting but I do really like them. They fit extremely well too and it's a fabulous bikini. I'm just going to have to find some bravery and just go for it.

Wow, well done if you have made it this far! Little bit of a fail from me, the Next sale starts this Saturday and I will be a bit annoyed if these pieces are on sale and in my size. Oh well, hopefully we can snap up some amazing deals in this gorgeous weather that we are having.

Max Factor Smoky Eye Effect Eyeshadow

I'm not particularly skilled with eyeshadows so anything that promises quick yet great looking eyeshadow, it's going to be the top of my wish list. This is exactly what Max Factors Smoky Eye Effect eyeshadow stick promised and it did not disappoint.

This is a double-sided cream eyeshadow stick which claims to create the perfect smoky eye look quickly and easily. And I totally agree! The pen style ends to this shadow makes applying super easy and quick. There's also tips online to help beginners, like me, to get the right look. It's so simple too. Just apply the first colour (the one with the rounded end) all over the eyelid. Then, using the second colour (more pointed end), draw a line along the lash line and the crease of your eye. These can then be blended together if you want.

Max Factor have a range of 8 colours for the product. I chose (2) Bronze Haze as, when it comes to shadows, I like to keep natural. Some of the shades are a bit out there (Citrus Thunder is green and red) but I think Onyx Smoke, a black and white combo, would create  a really powerful smoky eye effect.

The shadows themselves feel really soft and creamy on the skin and are easily blended too. However the dark brown of bronze haze goes really light when blended so you don't want to blend that one too much.

Overall, Max Factors Smoky Eye Effect eyeshadow stick is a fantastic product and I highly recommend it. It's so simple and easy to do, there's no excuse for dull eyes at parties.
