Maybelline Baby Lips

Say hello to the worlds cutest lip balms! Maybelline's baby lips have been in the UK for about a month now and have really made their mark on my make-up routine.

I remember waiting ages for these babies to be released. I had read so much about them as they were already out in the US (so jealous!) so was really excited to find them in my local Boots store. There are six to chose from, and it was a difficult decision as all look fabulous. I opted for Peach Kiss as I thought the nude colour would be ideal for everyday.

Can I start with the packaging? It is just adorable. The girly, bubblegum colours are so cute and fun. Each flavour has their own complementary colours that match the flavour/colour of the balm, all as sweet as each other. Peach Kiss is lilac and peachy pink, I can't think of a cuter colour combination. Despite the very girly colours, it is definitely not a kiddy lip balm. It's not your average lip balm and this is obvious from the packaging. The clear lid is very cool and more sophisticated from your average packaging. I get the feeling that Maybelline really cares about the look of their product and making them better quality than others on the market. It's really paid off, these look like nothing else in the UK market.

In it's official packaging.
Looks aren't everything. So it's lucky that this is the best lip balm I have ever had! Baby Lips is really easy and smooth to apply and super soft on the lips. Highly moisturizing too. The balm has a lovely shine and, although its not massively pigmented, the subtle colour is want you want and expect from a lip balm. Plus, if your not keen on colour, there are clear ones too. All have their own sweet scent which I think is essential for a lip balm. A bland lip balm is a big no no and this one is most definitely not. Maybelline claim that their lip renew formula will moisturize your lips for 8 hours and improve the quality of your lips in just one week. So, maybe the eight hours bit isn't accurate and I reapply through out the day (isn't that the fun of make-up though?), my lips are in the best condition they have ever been.

Baby Lip in Peach Kiss

Baby Lip is just a beautiful product that really works. Highly recommended! And at only £2.99, who could say no? Seriously, try it. I can almost guarantee you'll never look back. They are just perfect for everyone. The only problem is that now I want them all!

All The Liebster Awards

I'm starting to think this situation may be getting a little out of hand. I have been nominated far more many times than I think I deserve. I appreciate it so much, thank you all so much for nominating, I'm so flattered that you like reading my blog and it means so much to me. As I've done this tag so many times, I usually just write my answers to your questions in the comments. But I feel this is a little unfair as you could of nominated anyone and you chose me, and the payback you get is one extremely long comment instead of a whole post that you instructed me to write. And for that, I am sorry. It just gets a bit much to write a post every time and nominate another 10 or 11 (I've noticed this differs from blog to blog) wonderful bloggers to do the same. It's just not physically possible every time. So, I've decided to group my most recent ones here to truly thank those who nominated me.

This is going to be a long one so if you just don't have the time to sit and read this, I totally understand, you are free to go. So, if you're sticking around, here we go!

First up, and my most recent nominator, Sarah from Silk and Kiss:

I think this is a new part of the Liebster awards, but Sarah has instructed that I give 10 facts about myself and then answer her questions. So here we go:

1. My name is Tasmin.
2. I am from a little island called Guernsey. It's part of a group of British island called the Channel Island as is far south of England and not far off the west coast of France.
3. I've just started sixth form and I am currently studying art, psychology, photography and maths at AS Level. So far it's been good.
4. At only 5ft3, I am fairly short.
5. I started ballet aged four and still continue to do it. I love dance and its a fun way to exercise. I also do modern dance and tap.
6. My star sign is Scorpio.
7. My favourite season is autumn.
8. I have far too many fears than is healthy, including dogs, fire and daddy long legs (if you've never heard of them, lucky you. They are the creepiest insects ever!)
9. I'm a chocoholic, I eat so much chocolate!
10. I have no idea what I want to do in the future. There are so many careers to choose from and none really appeal to me. I'm worried by the time I finally know what I want to do, it'll be too late and I won't be able to do it.

And now Sarah's questions:

1) What made you want to start a blog?
When I was younger, I used to read a lot of celebrity blogs and sort of stopped for some reason. So I started to try and get back into it.
2) Do you watch YouTubers and if so who's your favourite?
I watch so many YouTubers! I don't think I can pick favourites. I love Dan and Phil, they are really funny. Zoella, obviously, she's a fantastic YouTuber and blogger as is Louise (Sprinkle of Glitter). Troye Sivan is also amazing. Gosh there's so many more I love too but I'll be here all day.
3) What’s your all-time favourite movie?
Can I cheat and have two? 27 Dresses is pretty much my all time favourite, I've watched it so many times and it just doesn't get old. I also love The Proposal. They both just put a smile on my face.
4) When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up? Did you do it?
I wanted to be so much when I was younger, including a zoo keeper and a fashion designer. None of which I have achieved yet. But, I don't really know what job I want to do in the future.
5) If you were on a desert island, what 3 beauty items would you take with you?
Oh gosh, this is hard. Definitely my Maybelline Colossal Volum' mascara as it it the best. A red lipstick, not sure exactly which one but I'm a sucker for red lipstick. A third, hmm, eyeliner. Do love a good eye liner.
6) What quality do you find most attractive in others?
Positivity. There is nothing worse than someone who just moans about absolutely everything. Life's not that bad so smile a little more.
7) What’s something you regret, and how would you change it if you could?
I can't think of anything off of the top of my head. I think we all occasionally say stuff we don't mean and end up hurting someone. I would apologise, get them some chocolate or something. I would never intentionally hurt someone and feel extremely bad if I do.
8)  What are your three most favorite things to do?
Dance- it's so much fun.
Art- I love turning a blank sheet into a piece of art. It fascinates me and is really rewarding.
Blogging- I love being able to share my thoughts and opinions with people who actually want to know what I have to say. Things like this show that others like what I do and it feels so rewarding and I appreciate my readers so much.
9) What’s your life dream?
Is is bad that I don't have one. I've always dreamed of having a career in fashion so maybe that would be my life dream.
10) How was your day?
It's been good, although I haven't done a lot. Just some photography coursework and some blogging. Nothing much really.

I was also nominated by Caitlin but her blog has been removed so I can't find her questions or my answers which is a shame. However, I believe these are her questions, if not, sorry about that but thank you very much Caitlin.

1. Where would you most like to travel to?
Anywhere in America. I'm so fascinated by that Country.
2. What do you like the most about blogging?
The community- everyone is really kind and friendly. I also love being able to share my ideas and opinions with people who want to read as I don't known many people who share my interests.
3. Who are your favourite bloggers and why?
I'm a big fan of Zoella. She is just a genuinely lovely person who you cannot dislike.
4. What is your dream career?
I don't really have one. Something in fashion or blogging maybe as I love blogging.
5. What are your wardrobe essentials?
Skinny jeans- I don't think that any wardrobe is complete without at least one pair of skinny jeans.
6. Who is your favourite musician?
This is a hard one. Right now, I'm a little obsessed with Rizzle Kicks. I've just downloaded their new album and its amazing! Love it!
7. What is your favourite movie?
Either The Proposal or 27 Dresses. They always make me smile.
8. Who inspires you the most?
Another hard one. I think Jameela Jamil inspires me the most. She isn't afraid to voice her opinion and has not let life's difficulties stop her from reaching her dream. Or Fearne Cotton, they both have similar careers that I think are insanely cool.
9. Docs or Converses?
Converses- I own quite a few.
10. What do you think about fashion?
Love it! I find it so interesting and I love clothing. I could spend hours going through every rail in clothing stores. Is that normal? Probably not...

My next set of questions were asked by the lovely Mel of It's Me Mel.

1. What was your most used product this summer?

I think I've used my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer as it hides blemishes all day, even in the insane heat we had this summer.
2. What is your favourite make-up product?
Maybelline's Colossal Volum' mascara. To me, it's the best.
3. Did you go anywhere this summer?
Unfortunately I didn't. But, Guernsey is surrounded by beautiful beaches and views so it wasn't too bad.
4. What is your favourite hobby?
Dance. Can't wait to get back to it after the summer break.
5. Christmas is soon coming up! Asking for anything particular?
Gosh, I don't tend to even think about Christmas until after my birthday. I honestly don't know. An iPhone would be great though! Haha!
6. What is your favourite clothing store?
On the high street, I'd have to say Miss Selfridge. They stock the style of clothing that I really love. Online has to be Miss Guided- effortlessly cool clothing.
7. What do you have more of an interest in? Nails, make-up or hair?
Nails. I'm terrible with hair and not all that good with make-up. I do love painting my nails.
8. What is your favourite animal?
This is a hard one. Meerkats, they are so cute!
9. What is your favourite dinner?
Pasta! My all time favourite is pasta in a cheesy sauce plus bacon and onion. Mmmmm, yum!
10. False nails or natural?
Natural. I've never worn false nails but I can imagine they would be quite annoying.
11. What skincare product/s do you use?
I use far too many products on my skin. I use the Garnier Pure Active Exfo-Brusher Wash- a very weird concept that I'm not all that keen on, Clean & Clear Morning Energy facial scrub- smells amazing, and Clean& Clear exfoliating daily wash- smell a bit like baby oil and leaves my skin feeling really soft. I also use Burt's Bees Radiance day cream as a moisturiser.

The final set of questions are from Jennifer of Silly Little Pictures.

1. What's your favourite go to outfit?
Well, at the moment, it's my colourful Aztec print skort with a white vest and a blue cardigan. It's comfy, casual and totally summery.
2. What's in your bag right now?
I went out yesterday so my bags a bit if a mess. But, right now I have my phone, wallet, bus tickets, lip balm, concealer, bus timetable, an empty juice bottle, keys and my sunglasses. Nothing exciting.
3. Where is your favourite place to visit?
I love visiting Jersey as its so close and quite similar to my island Guernsey but it has more shops therefore a bigger variety of places to shop.
4. What are you currently obsessed with?
I. Currently obsessed with Rimmel's Nail Nurse. It's a top and base coat which strengthens and moisturises your nails. I am so impressed by it and has really improved the quality of my nails. I don't paint my nails without it anymore.
5. What is your favourite trend from A/W 13?
I'm actually quite a fan of the punk trend. It's so 90's and I remember wanting to wear this style of clothes when I was younger. I'd never go full out punk but I like the edgy style.
6. What is your favourite TV program right now?
New Girl: it's just so funny!
7. What are you currently playing on repeat?
There's a few that I currently really like at the moment. But, I've been hitting repeat on YouTube for Can We Dance by The Vamps. It's really catchy and I won't deny it, I like them.
8. What high street store do you visit most?
Probably New Look or Miss Selfridge as there isn't a huge variety of shops where I live.
9. How much would you usually spend on a shopping spree?
I try to restrict myself to £60 but I'm usually well behaved when on a shopping spree.
10. Where do you usually shop online?
Missguided.co.uk as it's my favourite clothing site. Effortlessly cool clothing.
11. What fashion magazines do you usually read?
I occasionally pick up a Vogue but I always pick up a Company magazine. Is that a fashion mag? I'm not sure, they do have fashion articles in it.

I think that is all of them. Sorry if I missed anyone out. Well done if you've read all of this. Comment if you have, I'd love to know if anyone has bothered to read all of this! If you have, give yourself a pat on the back! :)

Thank you again for nominating me! I really appreciate it and feel so honoured that you think I'm deserving of the nomination.

The Autumn Tag

Autumn is my favourite season, so when I saw this tag floating around there was no way I was ignoring it. Okay, so it's a tag and I've not been specifically tagged. However, the lovely Chloe of realityleaveslotstoimagination tagged all her lovely readers to do the tag, so I'm counting that as my tag. Thank you Chloe!

Favourite Thing About It?

There's so much to love; Halloween, bonfire night (although I'm scared of fire the fireworks are always so pretty) and my birthday. My favourite part of this season is being able to snuggle up in knitted jumpers, woolly scarfs and bobble hats and seeing the beauty that is autumn leaves. Just look at the leaf in the image above. Pathways become covered in a blanket of these beauty's and I just love it. The colours are really gorgeous shades of yellow, golden brown and red and I can't help but admire it.

Right, moving on before I sound like a complete weirdo who loves leaves! Aha!

Favourite Drink?

It has to be hot chocolate. Nothing warms you up better on a cold day then a nice mug of hot coco. Mmm.

Favourite Scent/ Candle?

I don't tend to use candles as I have a small fear of fire. This really annoys me because I love candles, I think they are pretty and smell amazing. But every time one is alight I have to keep my eye on it because I can't help but think it's going to fall over and set the whole house alight. I really want to get over this fear so might invest in some, any recommendations as I honestly don't know where to begin.

As for perfumes, I tend not to change them depending on season. I know that it's strange to wear a more summery scent in the colder months, but I just love Daisy by Marc Jacobs far too much to not spray it all year round. I am searching for a new one though.

Best Lipstick?

Rimmel's Lasting Finish by Kate in 107. It's a gorgeous darker red perfect for autumn. I find it's not very smooth applying as others from the collection I have and doesn't apply evenly. However, I do really like it.

Go To Moisturizer?

Garnier Intense 7 Days body moisturizer is a must in my eyes for autumn. As the weather can be so harsh on the skin and my skin drys very quickly, I put a lot of trust into this product in the hope that my skin stays smooth. For my face, I use Burt's Bee's Day Cream as it has treated my skin so well and it hasn't become dry ever since I started using it. Miracle product. Seriously.

Go To Colours for the Eyes?

When it comes to eyes, I like to keep it simple and only use neutral colours.

Favourite Music or Band/Singer to Listen to?

I don't listen to specific music in different seasons, but certain tracks remind me of walking home in the rain as I used to always listen to them when I was out late about two years ago. I guess Ed Sheeran is a good musician for autumn-y music. I love Ed and I can't wait for him release some new songs.

Speaking of new music, do you remember me mentioning a band called The Vamps a couple of months ago now. Well, they are a new band from the UK who I've become a little bit obsessed with. Their debut single, Can We Dance, comes out next week (29th September, UK only). It's a really catchy track so I highly recommend it. Check them out on Youtube, I can pretty much guarantee any McFly fans will love these guys.

Favourite Outfit to Wear?

Skinny fit jeans and knitted jumpers are a must, along with cute ankle boots, all in typical autumn shades (dark red/burgundy is my favourite).

Autumn Treat?

Chocolate- not really specific for autumn but I'm a bit of a chocoholic and can't get enough of the stuff. Also, a lovely warm bubble bath and a well deserved pampering is always a great way to treat yourself after a long day walking about in torrential rain.

Favourite Place to be?

Either tucked up inside watching a fantastic film or sat in a coffee shop, sipping on hot chocolate and chatting to friends - the best ways to spend autumn.

So there we go, I do love a good tag. I hope you all enjoy your autumn and are not missing summer too much.

I tag:

Sinead-Dreaming Again
Louisa-LouisaDays
Lucille-Pink Leopard Lipstick
Chloe-The Odd Girl Out
Hann- The Adventures of Hann
Grace- A Bit Graceful

I hope you enjoy doing the tag as much as I did.

#ootdfridays Number 18

It's back! No, I didn't forget to do ootdfridays last week. I had such a busy day and didn't have any time to create the post. I'm sorry.

So, just a quick catch-up. I started sixth form last week *yay*. It's been a lot better than I thought it'd be but there is an awful lot more work to be done than I'm used to. But, I can adapt (hopefully) and shall try my best to fit my blog into my new busy schedule. My blog is really important to me as I love writing it and don't particularly want school to get in the way of it. However, I fear that I'll only be able to fit one post a week which is a change from the three or four that I was able to do this summer. But, hey, less is more. Also, have you seen We're The Millers? I went last week and its hilarious, I recommend you watch it as soon as you can! Plus, I've been absolutely in love with Rizzle Kick's new album The Roaring Twenties. I was such a fan of the first album and was a little worried that this one would disappoint me, but it's amazing/ Well worth a listen if you've got time.

Jumper: Miss Guided
Skirt: Miss Guided
Necklace: New Look
Boots: Next
Bow Clip: New Look
For this weeks outfit, I decided I liked this red skirt I wore to school but wasn't so keen on the rest of my look. It wasn't bad but I got a little bored of the outfit, you know what I mean? As it was a little chilly, I opted for this cute little jumper top (it's not really a top but not quite a jumper, more a mixture of both) with an assortment of little gold studs on the shoulders. I added my well loved heart pendant necklace to the mix which has become incredibly rusty, it was only a cheap thing but still a little disappointed. My not-for-walking ankle boots make another appearance in this outfit. Maybe if I walk in them more then I might break them in a bit and they'd hurt less? It's worth a try as I really do adore them. To finish this look, I've included my latest discovery from New Look, bow clips. I've been on the search for cute bow clips for awhile after seeing so many on Instagram. When I was last in New Look, I came across a set of three cute ones for £3.99 and just couldn't resist.

Just Twirlin'
Remember, you can get involved too! Instagram a picture of your ootd using the hash-tag #ootdfridays and I could feature it in my next post.

This weeks silly pose: I really have nothing to say...
Hope you have a great weekend!

Trends: Punk

New season equals new trends. And the first one that has hit my radar is Punk.

The 90's rewind is well and truly here and the whole nostalgia factor is definitely part of its come back. Punk and grunge was big when I was born and I can remember the 90's fashion vaguely from when I was little. I can remember when I was younger, I had tartan skirts and felt like a total punk and really loved the whole style. While I would never go hard core, no platform boots or facial piercings here, I do love fashion with an edge and punk really sums that up.

Tartan- The ultimate punk pattern
Converses- Worldwide recognized symbol of rebellion
Leather boots- Leather jacket, well, leather anything suits the punk trend
Studs- Edgy fashion which is well and truly punk

Plaid shirts, tartan skirts, leather jackets and rock band t-shirts are just a handful of what punk style is to me. And while high street stores have stocked up with brand new clothes that follow the punk style, the unique part of this trend is that you can buy the authentic look at a vintage store. So hit your local thrift shop/charity shop to find the real deal.

No need to look so glum, there's only a little rain outside.
Top: New Look
Skirt: A hand-me-down
Boots: Next
Probably not a look that you could get away with in the office, this trend is definitely for casual wear. In fact, this would be great for any late festivals or concerts as punk is a style based around music. Depending on how you style the look, punk clothing can quite comfy. Ok, so a studded leather jacket might not be the comfiest, but tartan/striped leggings and a baggy rock band t-shirt is probably the most laid back outfit I can think of.

I honestly don't have a clue what I'm doing here...

Now, this trend will not be everyone's cup of tea. It is very edgy and takes a real hard-core punk to dress head-to-toe in this trend. But I'm a fan of the grunge look and, while I would never go hard core, no platform boots or facial piercings here, I do love fashion with an edge and punk really sums that up.

What do you think? Is it great that we are bringing back 90's fashion or should we have left punk in the past?

Back To School Playlist

Summer is now officially over and it's back to school time. So whether you are just returning or, like me, starting at a new school, I've created a playlist to try and fight off the back to school blues. Here we go:

Summertime Sadness Remix - Lana Del Ray vs Cedric Gervais: I mean, how fitting. I love the remix of this song and is definitely more upbeat than we are used to hearing from Lana. She has a beautiful voice and mixed with the uplifting beat, this will wake me first thing for school.

Cool- Le Youth: Now, usually when a song claims to be cool, it isn't in the slightest any good. However, when I heard this on the radio not too long ago, I thought was actually cool. They lyrics says it is, so it shouldn't, but it is. Confusing? It's just a good song, lets leave it at that.

Lost Generation- Rizzle Kicks: I'm a huge fan of Rizzle Kicks! I love how they mix rap with old-school beats. This track is the first release from their second album and I really can't wait to hear more. I have Lost Generation on repeat. I've also just downloaded the new album too, so excited to have a listen!

Don't Stop- Nina Nesbitt: This is a cover of the Fleetwood Mac song and is used in the new John Lewis advert. It's a real feel good song which is really what you need having to wake up so early again (you can really sense my excitement) and Nina has a really lovely voice. Great cover.

Burn- Ellie Goulding: Well, it it isn't number one for no reason! The beat is infectious and the lyrics get stuck in my head so easily. It's on it's third week at number one in the UK and Ellie so deserves it. Brilliant hit!

Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine)- Klangakarussell feat. Will Heard: This is quite a laid back song with a chilled summer vibe to it. Great for relaxing to.

Lily Allen- Smile: I found this for 59p on iTunes, really the only reason this song is here. I love a bargin and I love the song. You always need an older song/ classic on a playlist and this one is my one for this playlist. Haven't heard it for a long time and I'm just loving it. Don't you just live rediscovering songs!

Well, there's the soundtrack for my bus journey sorted. It's only a short one as I know my journey isn't all that long. What songs are you loving at the moment?
