Colourful Roses

I have just finished my final photo shoot for my A-Level Photography project which is incredibly scary. Everything is slowly coming to an end and I'm not sure if I'm quite ready for it to. Anyway, lets not dwell on that. My shoot was an underwater shoot that I did in my own bath (all the glamour of a professional!)for my Unusual Portraiture project were I used rose petals to add some colour to the composition. I can't share these just yet as my project is by no means complete or marked but I did takes pictures of the colourful roses I used which I would like to share with you. I'll warn you now, there are quite a lot here but I hope you enjoy!

#OOTDFridays Number 29

I've not left the house in two weeks and I think I'm going a little bit stir-crazy! The weather has been glorious recently and I feel a little guilty for not making the most of it but I have so much work to catch up with before school on Tuesday as I have found this holiday rather unproductive. I'm not going to beat myself up about it as I definitely needed the break but I'm starting to panic a little now as there is a lot to do and my deadline are only a few weeks away. So writing a blog post might not be the best way to spend my limited time but hey, it makes me happy.

Today I opted for a super casual look to matched the relaxed spring feel of the weather. This scallop edged star print vest is the coolest. I think I picked it up in a sale a few years ago and I have gotten so much wear out of it, it's incredible. Although it's black, it's very lose fit making it very comfortable in the heat. Matching this with my gorgeous Top Shop shorts continues the summer appeal to the look, but I'm sticking with tights as I'm not quite brave enough go bare legged just yet! Finishing with an over-sized knitted cardigan as it's still a little chilly and my wrecked converses completes this look in the most chilled-back style possible.

Necklace: Accessorize

Did everyone have a good Easter? I spent the whole day stuffing my face with chocolate and watching That 70's Show which I have become fully obsesses with again (I did mention I haven't been particularly productive).

I've also been feeling rather brave with styling my hair. I don't usually have that much time so I usually just brush it a leave it which gets really boring and repetitive. But with it being the holidays, I've had a bit more time to experiment and it's been really fun. This hair style, for example, took about five minutes to create and I'm completely in love with it. It's just fun and different for me and I will probably be recreating this to death.

My garden has been infested with dandelions... again! I don't really mind as I think they are cute.
Right, back to work for me! Let me know your thoughts in the comments, especially with the hair. Is it kinda cool or am I just plain weird. (Probably the latter!)

April Playlist

I've been struggling to put these together recently as I've found that I tend to listen to the same songs repeatedly at the moment. There are so many songs that I hear and like, but I almost instantly forget their name and artist as I haven't written it down. So that will be something I aim to improve for the future but for now, I'm merging some of my March favourites into April playlist. Here we go!

Circa Waves: T-Shirt Weather- The is a relatively new discovery for me and I just love the summery vibes of Circa Waves' style. It just transports me to a summer paradise and I just can't believe the weather has finally brighten up. Finally, summer is nearly here.

Ed Sheeran feat Rudimental: Bloodstream- I must admit, when I first heard about this collaboration I was a little nervous. I loved this song from Ed's album and just couldn't see how you could alter perfection. I was wrong. Rudimental know exactly what the are doing and the track is now more intense and dramatic which I just love.

Ellie Goulding: Love Me Like You Do- Not an obvious choice for this playlist, I'll admit, but the lyrics have become imprinted in my brain. I also love the cover Circa Waves did recently for Radio 1 (yes, I am now obsessed). They change the song completely to suit their style and it is brilliant.

The Vaccines: Handsome- The Vaccines are back with their infectiously catchy tunes and I am so happy. Handsome is just a really fun track with the catchy beat only The Vaccines can conjure up. Plus the music video is completely insane.

Florence + The Machine: What Kind of Man- She's back! I know a lot of people are back at the minute but SHE'S BACK! Strong and powerful, Florence +The Machine win the ultimate come-back with this track.

Royal Blood: Figure It Out- I didn't get the chance to talk about Royal Blood's Brit Award performance the other month, so this is a little bit of a delayed reaction but oh my goodness wasn't it incredible. I still can't believe it's only two people on stage, the sound is so loud and powerful. A well deserved win.

Paloma Faith: Only Love Can Hurt Like This- Another Brit Award winning performance, this time from the lovely Paloma Faith. This song does sort of change the tone of the mix but bare with as this song really is incredible. Paloma has such a distinctive voice and quirky style which is so easy to listen to.

Ed Sheeran: Photograph- Addicted to this song. Yes, a second Ed Sheeran song, problem? I have been constantly playing this song over and over again over the past few months and it's safe to say I am well and truly obsessed. It's just so beautifully written and sung in the way only Ed Sheeran can. No amount of compliments will truly describe this song in my opinion, just stunning.

Franz Ferdinand: Take Me Out- Ending this playlist on a high and I'm not entirely sure how many of you are actually going to be familiar with it. This song came on at a party earlier last month (cool party, I know) reminding me of how awesome this is. Franz Ferdinand was one of the many bands my parents would play in car journeys, so I kind of refer to them as car bands (there's a long list of car bands, mainly consisting of 80's rock bands but I'm sure there are a few more I may share with you in the future). It was just an unexpected moment of nostalgia which was greatly appreciated.

As always, I will have this collection available on YouTube for you to have a listen to here. Which songs are you obsessed with at the moment? Let me know in the comments.

#OOTDFridays Number 28

I've been absent for a little while. Rather than boring you with an endless list of excuses I'm just going to continue form where I left off. And go!

I went with a modern-retro look today. This beautiful cobalt blue textured a-line skirt is as bold in colour as it is in shape and looks like it just came out of the sixties. Unfortunately I haven't captured it very well on my camera; self-portraiture is very difficult on a DLSR! Partnering the skirt with this equally as bold over-sized polka dot shirt adds a more modern twist to such an iconic pattern and is ridiculously comfortable. Add a bowler hat, a pair of ankle boots brings the outfit together and completes the look.

Currently it's the Easter holidays and I have less than two days left to the end of lent. I'm not particularly religious but when I realised how dependent I was on chocolate, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to cut back. It's been hard, I'm not going to lie. At particularly low times, I would just dream of Nutella. Yes, I have completely lost it. Although, I nearly ate some last week at a friends birthday meal. I ordered the sticky toffee pudding thinking it was the safe bet, but they had grate chocolate all over the plate and so resulted to wiping it away with a napkin. How embarrassing but you can't deny that I am dedicated!

Boots: New Look
Thought the black and white would add to the retro appeal.
As always, I'd love your opinions so please don't shy away from sharing them in the comments below. I better get on with coursework/revision. Holidays just aren't holidays anymore.

Silly pose of the day: My camera and dodgy flash...
